Ciencias de la Naturaleza y Educación Ambiental en el Nivel Secundario

The purpose of this article is to analyze current research on Nature Sciences and Environmental Education at the Secondary Level, in order to propose didactic recommendations on the subject. The PRISMA protocol was used for the systematic review. As a result, it is deduced that the Science, Technology and Society (STS) approach should be conceived as a guiding thread in environmental education, so that students can make connections between the different environmental factors. The study conducted revealed that awareness of socio-environmental and socio-scientific controversies of problems and phenomena of nature is characterized by the “value flexibility” quality of the student, which is crucial for environmental education. From the relationships between the didactic processes recommended for virtual education from the Natural Sciences (of interdependence and subordination), the “environmental commitment and citizen participation” results as a synergic quality.
