A clinical case of atypical course of dacryoadenitis with early recurrence
The article is devoted to the analysis of a clinical case of dacryoadenitis with early recurrence and atypical course. Idiopathic inflammation of the orbit and dacryoadenitis as its variant do not have specific symptoms, is an exclusion diagnosis and requires differential diagnosis with a wide range of diseases of the orbit — infectious inflammation, lymphoproliferative diseases, neoplasms, sarcoidosis, Sjogren's syndrome, granulomatosis with angiitis, etc. In particular, in the clinical case described in the article, the patient was hospitalized and treated for upper eyelid phlegmon, then endocrine ophthalmopathy was suspected due to the recurrence of symptoms after discontinuation of treatment. And only a comprehensive examination made it possible to establish the correct diagnosis of dacryoadenitis. The article describes in detail the clinical picture of inflammation of the lacrimal gland, examines its differential diagnosis with endocrine ophthalmopathy based on symptoms, course features, test results and magnetic resonance imaging. Treatment options for the disease are being considered, depending on the severity of the symptoms and the patient's compliance. Keywords: dacryoadenitis, inflammatory diseases of the orbit, endocrine ophthalmopathy, differential diagnosis
