Humorystyczna twórczość gwarowa w literaturze Śląska Cieszyńskiego

The purpose of this article is to present the characteristic features of dialectal humor in literature of Cieszyn Silesia. The analysis is based on the basic division of comedy: situation, verbal and characters. All three types are noticeable in Cieszyn literature, but situational comedy and verbal comedy are the most common, especially in short, condensed forms such as the anecdote or the joke, which are among the best-loved humour genres and have a long-standing tradition in Cieszyn. The results are related to the author’s work: Karol Piegza, Karol Daniel Kadłubiec, Adam Wawrosz, Aniela Kupiec and Henryk Jasiczek.
