National Cultural Influence on ISO 9001 Implementation in Construction Industry
This study investigates how national culture influences the Jordanian construction industry's ability to successfully implement the ISO 9001 standard. A research methodology, encompassing mainly survey development, data collection and analysis, and structural equation modeling; was employed to fulfill the research objective. To represent the national culture, the Hofstede cultural dimensions were adopted. The results show that national culture has minimal impact on the effective implementation of ISO 9001 in the construction industry. The study recommends organizations create culturally sensitive methods and address potential issues caused by high power distance, low indulgence, short-term focus, and high uncertainty avoidance to improve the implementation of the ISO 9001 standard.
