A Semi – Circular Patch Antenna with WiMAX Spectrum Rejection Properties for UWB Applications
In this article, a unique band-notched ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna is described. It has a semi-circular radiating patch and an elliptical ground plane with a well-defined structure. A sharp band is eliminated from 3.4GHz-3.6GHz with a return loss greater than -6dB by exciting a ring-shaped slot on the radiating patch. The designed UWB antenna can operate at the frequencies ranging from 3GHz to 13GHz and a Bandwidth of 200MHz with center frequency 3.5GHz is eliminated at which WiMAX is assigned so as not to have interference with the users working at this band. Properties of the antenna such as Return Loss, VSWR, and Radiation Patterns for different parametric variations have been simulated in High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) software.
