Necessary and Sufficient Conditions in the fsQCA to Adopt and Use Benefitpay in Bahrain

The disposition of mobile payments has gained some strong pedigree globally and research that explores these mobile payments adoption and use is increasing. Using the fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) model, we analyzed how configurational antecedents of TAM led to adopting and using BenefitPay in Bahrain. The empirical analysis establishes that low perceived risk, high perceived usefulness, high perceived ease of use, high compatibility, old age, and high income are necessary and sufficient conditions to adopt and use the BenefitPay mobile payment application. Furthermore, it is revealed that high perceived risk, low compatibility, low perceived usefulness, low income, perceived ease of use, and young people are sufficient conditions for the non-use of BenefitPay. Users assess the benefits to be derived from BenefitPay before they adopt and use it. This research is significant as it calls for the providers of mobile payment Apps to enhance their security, cost-effectiveness, trust, and convenience.
