Abstract

Significant developments in Battery Management Systems (BMS) are required to improve performance, safety, and longevity of EVs due to their rapid evolution. The next wave of electric mobility is being shaped by new BMS technologies, which are the subject of this study. Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning algorithms are integrated for precise condition estimation, predictive maintenance, and real-time adaptive control of battery parameters are among the key advancements. To solve the thermal problems of high-energy-density batteries, advanced thermal management approaches are presented, including phase transition materials and liquid cooling. The advancement of cloud-based and decentralized BMS designs allows for improved remote monitoring, scalability, and reliability. Furthermore, new opportunities and problems for BMS design arise with the use of solid-state batteries and multi-chemistry battery packs, notably in terms of maximizing safety and energy efficiency. As vehicle connections grow, the report also looks at cybersecurity's role in shielding BMS from possible attacks. Future BMS can greatly enhance the general effectiveness, safety, and ride quality of electric vehicles by incorporating this cutting-edge technology, opening the door to more intelligent and environmentally friendly transportation options.
