Theoretical investigation of 1018 nm fiber laser with TFBG ASE filter
This work demonstrates a theoretical model establishment of 1018 nm fiber oscillator based on tilted fiber Bragg grating (TFBG) with rate equation and nonlinear Schrodinger equation (NLSE). The propagating power from signal conversion and amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) are simulated. TFBG can rescue the cavity from ASE dominating to a signal running mode. Besides, optical spectrums are also studied to optimize TFBG parameters, central wavelength λc, width Γ of suppression region, and maximum suppression R. The practical configuration of parameters is preliminarily optimized to be λc≤1045 nm and Γ≥20 nm, while R is less dominant with R≥10 dB.
