10-W level, GHz-rate femtosecond all-fiber MOPA system using PCF-based optoacoustically mode-locked fiber laser
High-power ultrafast lasers with GHz repetition rate and sub-100-fs pulse width are essential for various of applications, such as laser micromachining, optical metrology, and optical sensing. In this work, we demonstrated an all-fiber master-oscillator power-amplifier (MOPA) system, which delivery ~1.9-GHz laser output with 10.8 W average power, 5.7 nJ pulse energy and 84-fs pulse duration. In our system, a GHz-rate optoacoustically mode-locked fiber laser served as the seed oscillator, while the subsequent power scaling and pulse compression were accomplished using chirped-pulse amplification (CPA) and soliton self-compression process. This compact, high power fs all-fiber laser source host potential significance in practical applications.
