Work Pressures and Job Burdens and Their Relationship to Professional Compatibility of Sudanese Workers in the Private Sector in Muscat

This study aimed to investigate the levels of job stress and role overload, and their relationship to occupational adjustment among Sudanese employees in the private sector in Muscat, Oman. A descriptive-analytical correlational approach was used, with a questionnaire distributed to a convenient random sample of (60) workers. Results indicated that occupational adjustment received the highest mean (4.17 out of 5), followed by role overload (4.10), and job stress (3.91), all rated as "high". The results also revealed a negative correlation between job stress and coping strategies (r = -0.65), reflecting a moderate correlation. Based on these findings, the researchers recommend that Omani companies adopt an integrated strategy for managing job stress, including: providing training programs and psychological support, improving the work environment, enhancing effective communication culture, and developing a performance- and adjustment-related incentive system.
