An Innovative Approach to Determine Programmed Intermittent Epidural Bolus Pump Settings for Labor Analgesia: A Randomized Controlled Trial
( Anesth Analg . 2024;139(3):545–554. doi:10.1213/ANE.0000000000006813) Programmed intermittent epidural bolus (PIEB) analgesia has many benefits in the labor and delivery setting. This article had the goal of using response surface methodology (RSM) to determine optimal PIEB settings while also evaluating maternal satisfaction, clinician-administered manual bolus requirements, and the delivered amount of patient-controlled epidural analgesia (PCEA) doses.
