Efficient Multifunctional and Multiband Tunable THz Metasurface Based on VO2
In this paper, we proposed an innovative tunable terahertz (THz) metasurface with multifunctional and multiband, utilizing a VO<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf> metal hybrid structure. This metasurface is made up of a top resonance layer of VO<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf> and gold, a middle polyimide dielectric layer, and a reflecting gold film layer at the bottom. It offers multiple features by operating independently of polarization and incidence angle. By changing the conductive state of VO<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2,</inf> this metasurface achieves various functionalities in the THz range, including single-band absorption, broadband THz absorption, and multiband perfect polarization conversion for both linear (LP) and circularly polarized (CP) input waves. We postulate that the functional adaptability of our proposed metasurface expands the range of opportunities for future terahertz applications.
