Outcomes of radical cystectomy in a resource-limited setting: a pilot study
This study demonstrates the feasibility of performing radical cystectomy in a resource-constrained environment, supported by a collaborative training program involving international expertise and local participants. While outcomes were encouraging, key areas for improvement include infection control, critical care capacity, and early detection of bladder cancer. These findings underscore the importance of sustainable in-service training programs in building surgical capacity in resource-limited settings. Future research should focus on long-term outcomes and strategies to reduce complications.
