Hybrid RIS-assisted ISAC system for Enhanced V2V networks
The automotive industry has witnessed substantial growth in recent years, marking the onset of the era of fully autonomous driving. Simultaneously, the development of integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) systems seeks to mitigate spectrum scarcity by integrating radar and communication transceivers into a unified framework. Ensuring road traffic safety necessitates vehicles acquiring timely information about the positions of other vehicles to facilitate effective avoidance. However, line-of-sight paths between base stations (BS) and vehicles, as well as between vehicles themselves, are frequently obstructed by both static and dynamic obstacles. Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS) have emerged as innovative technologies for shaping wireless propagation environments, owing to their potential to enhance wireless communication. RISs have recently assumed a critical role in reshaping wireless propagation environments, thereby enhancing received signal strength and spectral efficiency.
