A Two-Step Pilot-Based Phase Noise Suppression Method for Polarization-Division-Multiplexed Universal Filtered Multi-Carrier Systems
This study presents an innovative two-step, pilot-assisted approach to mitigate phase noise in Polarization Division Multiplexed Universal Filtered Multicarrier (PDM UFMC) systems. The proposed technique enhances phase noise reduction and strengthens the system's resilience to nonlinear distortions, offering significant improvements over the original Orthogonal Basis Expansion (OBE) method. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is confirmed through a comprehensive series of Monte Carlo simulations.
