Design of a LifePo4 Battery Pack 21 A for Electric Motorcycle

Abstract Currently, Indonesia has implemented Presidential Regulation Number 55 of 2019 in an effort to accelerate the Battery-Based Electric Motor Vehicle Program. However, currently there are no voltage standards and battery pack communication systems used in Indonesia. Meanwhile, 72-volt battery packs with a capacity of 20 Ah are widely used because they have superior mileage even though the price of replacing lithium-ion battery cells is more expensive than LiFePo4 battery cells. Therefore, this research aims to design a LifePo4 battery pack with specifications of 72 volts with a capacity of 21 Ah. Based on dyno tests, results show that the battery can produce up to 11.51 HP of power with a maximum speed of 86 km/hour.
