A 6G Millimeter Wave Lightweight Broadband Electromagnetic Shielding Film Structure Based on Metamaterials
The primary objective of electromagnetic shielding (ES) technology is to employ specialized materials that effectively obstruct the pathway of electromagnetic waves, thereby minimizing interference and radiation to safeguarded objects. As 6G communication scenarios continue to diversify and expand, there is an increasing demand for electromagnetic shielding materials that are thinner, lighter, capable of covering wider frequency bands, and delivering superior performance. In this article, we present the design of a lightweight, broadband electromagnetic shielding film structure specifically tailored for 6G millimeter-wave communication. Utilizing the design principles of metamaterials, we have conducted meticulous periodic structure design and optimization of graphene. This has resulted in an electromagnetic shielding effectiveness exceeding 20 dB across the 10-100GHz frequency band, accommodating various polarizations and incident angles ranging from 0° to 60°, all while maintaining a thickness of just 1mm. Furthermore, this innovative structure integrates the numerous benefits of graphene materials, including their exceptional strength, high transparency, outstanding temperature resistance, and corrosion resilience, thus offering promising application prospects in the forthcoming 6G communication era.
