A Miniature Laminated Thermal Driven Switch

Traditional photosensitive switching devices usually use a combination circuit of photoresistors and MOS tubes, which is uncompact and ineffective in places with strong light source interference or rapid change illumination. To improve the integration and applicability of photosensitive switching devices, this paper proposes a novel miniature laminated thermal driven switch, which is capable of achieving switch conduction by specific wavelength light source or by local heating. The structure of the switch device includes a light-transmitting top layer, a photothermal expansion layer, an upper metal conductive sheet, a photo-thermal flexible composite layer, a lower metal conductive sheet, and a light-curing resin. It integrates the change of photoresistor's resistance value during the change of light intensity and the MOS tube's conduction characteristics in a single device, which has the potential for a wide range of applications, such as wireless sensor nodes, intestinal robots, farmland monitoring, and pre-detection of battlefield environments. The experimental results show that the innovation of this new switching device in principle provides a new solution for the selection of photosensitive switching devices.
