Development and Experimental Verification of IFRA-Based Transformer Winding Deformation Diagnostic Device

Transformer winding deformation is a common fault in power systems, and the traditional offline swept frequency response analysis (SFRA) method is effective but cannot achieve real-time monitoring. In this paper, an online detection device based on the impulse frequency response method (IFRA) is proposed and its integrated design is realized. The device integrates impulse signal generation, acquisition, and data processing systems. It can obtain the frequency response curve in real time under the normal operating conditions of the transformer. By optimizing the amplitude, width, and leading edge of the pulse signal, the anti-interference ability and detection accuracy of the signal are improved. Experimental verification shows that the device can accurately and stably detect winding deformation and has good equivalence with traditional SFRA methods. The system enhances the detection efficiency, simplifies installation and maintenance, and is suitable for online monitoring in power systems.
