( Anesthesiology . 2024; 140:1235–1239. doi:10.1097/ALN.0000000000004968) Recently, the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) released a statement on pain during cesarean delivery (CD) from the Committee on Obstetric Anesthesia which addressed the failure to achieve pain-free CD. This article is a letter to the editor in response to this statement, arguing that providers “can and must do better” to relieve pain for patients during this procedure.
