Study on the Corrosion of DC Stray Current to the Horizontal Buried Angle of Buried Metal
To investigate the impact of stray current on the corrosion of buried pipelines positioned at various horizontal angles, an experimental platform for the corrosion of buried pipelines under the action of stray current is built. The mass loss and corrosion rate of buried pipelines in soil at different buried angles are measured and calculated. The experimental results show that the stray current corrosion is mainly concentrated in the anode area of the buried pipeline, and the corrosion rate and mass loss of the buried pipeline in the horizontal direction decrease with the increase of the buried angle of the buried pipeline. Finally, the COMSOL Multiphysics simulation model that corresponds to the experiment has been developed. Subsequently, the experimental results are compared and validated to ensure accuracy and reliability. The simulation results are largely in agreement with the experimental findings, thereby confirming the reliability of the experimental outcomes. These research findings can offer a theoretical foundation for the design of corrosion protection systems for buried pipelines affected by stray currents in subway environments.
