The Impact of Meteorological Factors on Power Balance: A Case Study of Jiangsu Province

The global community is actively facilitating the transition to new energy systems and accelerating the deployment of renewable energy sources. However, changes in meteorological factors are closely related to fluctuations in renewable energy generation. This paper takes Jiangsu Province as the research object to discuss the influence of meteorological factors on the stability of renewable energy power generation. Meanwhile, this study investigates the inter-annual, seasonal, and short-term fluctuations of renewable energy generation based on high temporal and spatial resolution renewable resource data from Jiangsu Province. It turns out that adverse weather conditions can lead to severe power shortages. The research highlights the importance of understanding weather-induced changes and preparing for potential power shortages under extreme weather conditions.
