Research on Modular Multilevel Converter Sub-Module Voltage Balance and Circulating Current Suppression Strategy
The Modular Multilevel Converter (MMC) has garnered extensive attention and research due to its highly modular structure, strong scalability, and high-quality output waveform. This study centers on the MMC, establishing a mathematical model based on the topology and operating principles of the MMC rectifier. Subsequently, it thoroughly analyzes the principles behind key challenges such as sub-module capacitor voltage balancing control and circulating current suppression in MMC topology, and proposes specific control strategies. Finally, a simulation model is built using the Matlab/Simulink platform, and the simulation outcomes confirm the validity of the suggested control strategies.
