Vehicular Ethernet End-to-End Communication Security Research and Testing
The “software-defined automobile” has become the future development goal of the automotive industry, which is mainly due to the wider application of software technology in automobiles and the increasing demand of consumers for automotive functions and experiences. In this process, “electrification, connectivity, intelligence, and sharing” have become the four major trends in the industry. In order to adapt to this trend, automotive Electronic/Electronic Architecture (E/E) is rapidly evolving from a distributed architecture to a centralized architecture, with the introduction of in-vehicle Ethernet being the most notable sign. However, in-vehicle Ethernet involves many protocol clusters and faces many risks of being attacked, so the communication data security of in-vehicle Ethernet is particularly important. In order to solve the problem of in-vehicle Ethernet communication security, AUTOSAR (Automotive Open Systems Architecture) proposes an End to End (E2E) communication security protection mechanism. This paper aims to study the end-to-end communication mechanism of vehicle Ethernet and implement it by using the end-to-end Profile4B approach. Finally, the end-to-end test specification is constructed and the end-to-end communication protection mechanism of vehicle Ethernet is tested and verified. The experimental results show that the E2E-based scheme can effectively realize the detection of multiple types of error mechanisms, such as packet loss, disorder, checksum error, etc., so as to realize the validity and reliability of in-vehicle Ethernet data.
