Developing of Novel Hybrid Auxetic Structures for Enhanced Compression Properties via Additive Manufacturing
Auxetic structures have advanced beyond traditional cell patterns, offering unique traits such as lightweight design, auxetic properties, and outstanding mechanical performance. Recently, there has been a significant increase in interest in these traits, leading to the exploration of fresh structural designs and the integration of existing unit cells. Efforts in this area focus on creating modified and mixed auxetic building components to enhance mechanical efficiency and auxetic characteristics. This study focuses on developing and evaluating novel, modified, and fused auxetic design to examine the mechanical characteristics through compression tests. The structures were modified, designed, and constructed using standardized techniques in additive fabrication. The results showed superior mechanical characteristics that surpassed traditional auxetic structures with a remarkable 34-96% improvement.
