Quantitative Assessment of Hand Movements for Home-Based Health Monitoring Using Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi-based human motion sensing is characterized by its contactless, passive, and privacy-preserving nature, making it an ideal solution for home-based monitoring of motor function in patients with Parkinson's disease. This study proposed a Wi-Fi sensing method that leverages a pair of commodity Wi-Fi devices to quantitatively assess hand movements in a daily-living environment. The results demonstrated the potential to accurately measure motion parameters associated with finger tapping and simulated hand rest tremor.
