Sliding Mode Speed Control of a Propeller Loaded Electric Propulsion System Based on Torque Compensation

The electric propulsion system uses a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) to drive the propeller, providing the necessary lift for the aircraft. Due to the complexity and strong coupling of operating conditions, higher requirements are placed on its dynamic response and disturbance suppression capabilities. To improve system performance, a non-singular terminal sliding mode surface function is constructed based on deadbeat predictive current control (DPCC), and fast terminal sliding mode control (FTSMC) speed controller with a new reaching law is designed to enhance the system's rapid response capability. By incorporating an extended state observer (ESO), the observed torque is used as one of the feedforward variables. Additionally, the propeller speed-torque fitting curve is used as a feedforward variable to further enhance the speed response. Experiments demonstrate that the proposed method in this paper features fast response and strong robustness.
