Pressure Distribution Analysis of Metro Braking System with Different Working Conditions

To study the braking performance status of an in-service metro train braking system, a method that identifies specific working conditions based on data-driven techniques and studies the distribution range of brake cylinder pressure under different conditions is proposed in this paper. By employing the Pearson correlation analysis method, a substantial amount of historical on-board data from a metro line is analyzed, leading to the identification of two data points closely related to brake cylinder pressure. To address the limitations of correlation analysis, the principle of the blending brake of EP brake(electro-dynamic brake) and ED brake(electro-pneumatic brake) was combined with the actual brake cylinder pressure curve to determine four key characteristics for classifying different braking conditions and summarize three typical braking processes. Based on the sliding window algorithm and logical judgment, the distribution of brake cylinder pressure under these three specific conditions are investigated in this study, which is crucial for evaluating the performance of the braking system in actual operation. The method proposed in this paper is also applicable to the analysis of other rail transit trains' braking systems.
