Shock and Vibration Analysis (FEA) of Electronic Cabinets Onboard Naval Platforms

In marine platforms, it is imperative to isolate cabinets containing onboard electronics from shock and vibration experienced during its operation to increase their operational life. This paper is aimed at shock and vibration analysis of said cabinets providing their load bearing, optimum damping, and stiffness values for design optimization of vibration isolators. FEA results were then validated using empirical formulation.

Abstract

In marine platforms, it is imperative to isolate cabinets containing onboard electronics from shock and vibration experienced during its operation to increase their operational life. This paper is aimed at shock and vibration analysis of said cabinets providing their load bearing, optimum damping, and stiffness values for design optimization of vibration isolators. FEA results were then validated using empirical formulation.
