Fabrication of Copper-Doped Lignin-Based Carbon Nanotube Composite Electrodes for Energy Storage Applications
Energy storage devices made of environmentally friendly materials are in high demand due to recycling's growing relevance. Currently, these energy storage methods are not satisfactory. Numerous technological energy storage devices incorporate copper, an important metal. This work fabricated a Cu-doped lignin-based carbon nanotube (Cu@CNT/lig) for use as an electrode material in energy storage applications. The Cu@CNT/lig exhibits a porous network topology that connects to one another. It has a high specific capacitance of 963.75 F g−1, an energy density of 48.18 Wh kg−1, and a power density of 150 W Kg−1at the current density of 0.5 A g−1,. This research work endows the electrode material with efficient rate performance, providing a new pathway to engineer the promising electrode material and fabricate high-performance energy storage devices.
