Novel 6G Network: Maximizing Sum Rate and User Association by Minimizing Cost Ensuring QoS

Exiting fifth-generation (5G) networks are becoming unsuitable due to the rapidly growing demands for bandwidth, necessitating the exploration of forthcoming sixth-generation (6G) networks. In 6G, the cognitive radio network (CRN) along with technologies like spectrum sensing, spectrum leasing, orthogonal multiple access (OMA), non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA), and fair power allocation, can be considered. This paper presents a novel 6G network strategy to jointly optimize the network rate and user association by minimizing the operational cost of CRN operator, provided assurance of quality of service (QoS). The spectrum sensing and spectrum leasing techniques are employed to minimize the operational cost and ensure the CRN users' QoS, respectively. Additionally, both OMA and NOMA technologies are used to enhance the data rate, and user association by minimizing inter-user interference. Further interference introduced by NOMA is mitigated via successive interference cancellation (SIC) technique. Simulation results highlight the novel proposed 6G network strategy's superior performance over the existing strategies, i.e., OMA assisted spectrum sensing only, OMA assisted spectrum leasing only, NOMA assisted spectrum sensing only, and NOMA assisted spectrum leasing only, regarding maximizing network sum rate, and user association by minimizing operational cost of the CRN operator while ensuring QoS to CRN users.
