A New Model for Calculating the Time-varying Meshing Stiffness of Cracked Gears Considering Deformation Compatibility

The development of a novel model integrating coupling flexibility, extension of contact, and deformation compatibility for analyzing cracked gears addresses existing limitations in current models. By considering these crucial factors, the proposed model enhances the convenience, precision, and efficiency of time-varying mesh stiffness (TVMS) analysis in gear dynamics. The results from this new model are compared and validated against simulation outcomes, demonstrating a strong alignment with finite element (FE) models. This alignment signifies the model's accuracy and reliability, providing a robust basis for future research in gear dynamics analysis and offering insights into the behavior of gears with cracks, ultimately contributing to advancements in dynamic stability and fault diagnosis of gear systems.
