Research on IGBT Digital Drive and Protection Technology Based on FPGA
As the core component of the converter, the insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) is widely used in the field of rail transit. The reliability of its drive circuit is crucial to the safe operation of the IGBT and even the entire system. This article designs a digital driver board based on Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) to improve system stability and flexibility. The driver board uses a flyback power supply to isolate the high-voltage side and the low-voltage side, and a programmable gate resistor array is designed to flexibly meet application needs. In addition, it has power monitoring and protection functions, short-circuit protection and other functions. Simulation and experimental results show that the driver board can flexibly realize three-stage resistance switching during the IGBT switching process, thereby suppressing voltage spikes; when a short-circuit fault occurs in the system, it can quickly block the pulse within 5 μs and quickly implement short-circuit protection; within 1ms Identifying power faults and protecting them verifies the reliability of the driver board design and provides ideas for medium and high voltage IGBT driver applications.
