Design and Optimization of Wave-Energy Magnetic Field Modulated Permanent Magnet Linear Generator
Magnetic field modulated permanent magnet linear generator(MFMPMLG) can improve the design point velocity and power density based on the field modulation effect, which is particularly suitable for wave energy generation field. For this paper, the working principle of the dual-mover MFMPMLG is explained, the no-load EMF and maximum thrust at different gear ratios of the generator are simulated and analyzed, and the range of gear ratio values are obtained. Based on the obtained conclusions, the MFMPMLG scheme is redesigned and compared with the traditional scheme. The comparison results show that the adoption of the MFMPMLG scheme can not only improve the volumetric power density but also reduce the amount of effective permanent magnet. Finally, the influence of the slot-pole combination, permanent magnet pole arc coefficient, and the size of the low-velocity mover pole-pieces on the generator's performance are analyzed, and the optimized design scheme is determined. This study has a certain guiding significance for the design of MFMPMLG.
