A Rare Case of Portal Hypertensive Polyps in Chronic Heart and Liver Disease Presenting With Acute Blood Loss Anemia
A 58-year-old man with chronic nonischemic cardiomyopathy and nonalcoholic cirrhosis awaiting dual-organ transplantation was admitted for acute anemia. Esophagogastroduodenoscopy and colonoscopy were performed, revealing grade II esophageal varices and several large gastric polyps. The patient responded appropriately to transfusions and was discharged following therapeutic endoscopies.
