Effect of SnO2 doped Pt/C catalyst on the electrocatalytic oxidation of dimethyl ether
The influence of the SnO 2 proportions on the activity of Pt/C+SnO 2 catalysts was examined. The results verified that Pt particles were evenly spread on the carriers. The Pt/C+SnO 2 catalysts demonstrated better electrooxidation activity than the Pt/C. The SnO 2 could carrier OH ads groups. The OH ads promoted the oxidation of CO ads and released the Pt active sites. The Pt/C+SnO 2 catalyst with 20 % (mass) SnO 2 demonstrated the excellent activity and stability for Di-Methyl Ether (DME) oxidation. Excessive SnO 2 might hide the active sites of Pt, which would lead to the decrease of catalyst performance.
