Improvement of Propagation Condition by Metal Wall for Seawater Tank Measurement
At undersea communication research, scale-down model measurement will be used. Due to limited size of a measurement tank, propagation attenuation measurement will be deteriorated by radio wave reflections at the tank walls. The method to reduce reflection is needed. In this paper, attachment of a metal plate on the tank wall is investigated. Inside the tank of 3m (length) x 2m (width) x 2m (depth), electric power density is obtained by electromagnetic simulations at 13.67MHz. It is ensured that tank wall reflections are sufficiently reduced by metal plate attachment and attenuation measurement area is extended.
