Ovarian Cancer Risk Among Older Patients With Stable Adnexal Masses
(Abstracted from Am J Obstet Gynecol 2024;231(4):440.e1–440.e7) Adnexal masses represent a clinical challenge in the field of gynecology; the only way to rule out cancer in these cases is through surgical intervention, but most masses are benign, so surgical intervention in many cases could cause more harm than good. The risk of delay in cancer diagnosis must be weighed against the potential harms of unneeded surgical intervention.
