Water Conservation: Preserving A Vital Resource for Sustaining Life

Water is the most essential natural resource for humans and all other living things.Significant water shortages are occurring in various nations as a result of the combined effects of population increase, climate change, and lifestyle changes, placing growing demand on our essential water supplies. In recent times, there has been a significant risk to the water level. For this reason, one must think about water conservation and how it can contribute. The 2015 Global Risk Report from the World Economic Forum states that one billion people do not have access to safe drinking water, placing a third of the world's population under water stress. As such, the water problem is considered a serious risk. The complex relationship between shifting land-use patterns and rising runoff from the connected water source, as well as clean infrastructure. The water's quality is an additional problem because the source of groundwater and surface water are disregarded.Urban water is becoming more expensive, and the water bottled business has been growing. However, because of leakage and misuse, safe water is used carelessly and unnecessarily.Traditional water collection techniques have been severely neglected or polluted throughout most of India.Even though a large number of people cannot be supplied by the current central water supply and management system, things have gotten worse since independence.Water efficiency and conservation (WEC) is practiced in many advanced economies, such as the USA, Australia, and the UK.This is because these countries have learned from natural disasters like drought and severe floods, as well as from the difficulties when it comes to urban water system management, such as energy scarcity, operation and maintenance (O&M), and cost.As a result, it is essential for surviving in India, where many realistic and climate-responsive methods have been applied since ancient times.Forts protected by surrounding bodies of water and monsoon rain storage structures remain in place. In India, traditional ways of conserving water are still used, and they can be better than modern methods. These methods have improved water conservation techniques and building over time, helping people in desert regions during hard times. This study examines the awareness of water conservation in suburban, urban, and rural regions and methods to conserve water.
