THEMATIC GEOSPATIAL DATA SETS FOR GIS MONITORING OF URBAN LAND ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION CONDITIONS

The lands of cities have specific features caused by the diversity of their intended use. The specifics of urban lands lead to the need to assess their condition from various aspects: socio-legal, urban planning, engineering and construction, environmental, and sanitary-hygienic. An analysis of publications devoted to the monitoring of urban lands indicates the relevance of forming datasets to evaluate the condition of the land based on these aspects, particularly from an engineering and construction perspective. Ukrainian regulations stipulate that the primary factors in the engineering and construction assessment of land are the engineering-geological conditions and the extent and development of hazardous geological processes and phenomena. Experience in urban planning shows that engineering and construction conditions can be defined as the properties and processes of the environment that influence decision-making regarding the construction and operation of structures. A generalization of approaches to the engineering and construction assessment of areas leads to the conclusion that the main criteria for this assessment are tectonic, geomorphological, engineering-geological, hydrogeological, hydrological, meteorological, and geodynamic indicators. Based on the analysis of the subject area, a class diagram of a thematic set of geospatial data for monitoring systems of the engineering and construction condition of urban lands has been proposed. The dataset includes information characterizing the suitability of the area for development. Fourteen classes were identified, reflecting the specific characteristics of the area regarding the placement of structures, their types and constructions, construction methods, and operation methods. The proposed diagram can be used in the creation of settlement monitoring systems to improve the justification of management decisions in planning area development.
