Portable Device for Purifying and Disinfecting Water in Extreme Conditions
Clean water is indispensable for both water supply systems and medical applications, serving as a fundamental resource for maintaining public health and hygiene. In the context of medicine, clean water is critical for sterilizing instruments, preparing medications, and ensuring safe patient care. Advanced purification technologies, including filtration, UV radiation, and reverse osmosis, are employed to meet stringent water quality standards. However, the ongoing conflict in Ukraine has severely impacted the availability and quality of clean water. The destruction of infrastructure, contamination of water sources, and disruption of supply chains have exacerbated water scarcity and compromised the health and safety of the population. In medical settings, the shortage of clean water poses significant challenges, increasing the risk of infections and hindering effective medical care. The collected statistical data include analysis results showing the concentrations of various pollutants, including heavy metals, nitrates, phosphates, and other chemicals. We developed a three-stage portable device for effective operation in extreme conditions typical of war zones. The device's technology integrates advanced filtration, ozonation, and ultraviolet disinfection technologies, ensuring high water safety and quality with compact dimensions and an autonomous power supply
