Impact of P300 Speller Training on Focus and Attention: An EEG Topography Analysis
The study examines the impact of P300 Speller training on enhancing focus and attention, utilizing a non-invasive EEG-based Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) system. Subjects engaged in a Focus game both before and after sessions of the P300 Speller, a BCI game designed to heighten cognitive engagement through interactive tasks. This design allowed for direct measurement of the training's effect on focus and attention. EEG data was collected during each Focus game session before and after the P300 Speller training to assess changes in attentional engagement and cognitive performance. Results demonstrate significant improvements in EEG activity patterns, particularly in the frontal and occipital regions, which are crucial for attention and visual processing. These findings confirm that P300 Speller training not only enhances cognitive functions necessary for intense focus tasks but also significantly improves performance in subsequent focus-driven activities.
