Novel Method for Negative Group Delay Circuit with High Transmission Coefficient
As Negative Group Delay (NGD) circuits are based on filters, insertion loss (IL) is inherent to them with recent efforts to enhance the NGD per IL ratio. This work presents theory and simulation of a novel method to create NGD circuits without IL at the center frequency, this method is based on Negative Impedance Converter (NIC) integrated to the reactive elements, so the NGD behavior is rotated with relation to the horizontal axis. We use a series bandpass combined with the NIC to illustrate the technique. At the resonant frequency of 1GHz, the simulated result presents a NGD of -3.17 ns with no IL. The theoretical and simulated results are accurately matched.
