Evaluation of MPPT Efficiency as a Function of PV Current Ripple

The article presents an assessment of the reduction in maximum power extraction by solar panels as a function of pulsation. The typical current-voltage characteristic of solar panels is expressed using the polynomial approximation method. In the MatlablSimulink program, a model of a block of solar panels has been developed, the power of which is taken by a boost ds/ds converter with the MPPT function. The dependences of the value of the selected solar power as a function of the harmonic distortion coefficient of the panel current have been established.

Abstract

The article presents an assessment of the reduction in maximum power extraction by solar panels as a function of pulsation. The typical current-voltage characteristic of solar panels is expressed using the polynomial approximation method. In the MatlablSimulink program, a model of a block of solar panels has been developed, the power of which is taken by a boost ds/ds converter with the MPPT function. The dependences of the value of the selected solar power as a function of the harmonic distortion coefficient of the panel current have been established.
