Optimization strategy for joint participation of pumped storage and new energy in spot market trading
As a representative large-scale regulated power source, pumped storage power stations can effectively alleviate the randomness and volatility of new energy generation, and ensure the safe, stable, and economic operation of the power system. In order to reduce wind and solar power curtailment and improve the consumption of new energy, pumped storage and new energy can be jointly operated. Firstly, establish a dual layer model for the joint participation of pumped storage and new energy in spot trading. The outer layer model aims to maximize the bidding profit of the consortium, while the inner layer model establishes a model for the distribution of benefits among the consortium. The results indicate that within the range of ${0 \% - 2 5 \%}$ of the installed capacity of new energy power stations, the formation of a bidding consortium between pumped storage power stations and new energy power stations has good economic viability.
