Anti‐Electromagnetic Radiation of Carbon Nanotubes Decorated PbO: Synthesis and Characterization
Abstract In this study, carbon nanotubes are functionalized with lead salt to prepare a nanocomposite of carbon nanotubes with lead oxide via a heat treatment process at 900 °C. The composite is characterized using infrared spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and X‐ray diffraction. The results confirmed the presence of carbon nanotubes coated with lead oxide, indicating the success of the preparation method. The prepared composite is used in gamma ray shielding applications using brain membrane as a carrier surface for the carbon nanotube–lead oxide composite. The results showed that the composite is capable of blocking approximately 44% of the radiation using a quarter gram of carbon nanotubes doped with 0.0125 grams of lead oxide.
