A Comparative Study on Permissioned Based Blockchain Implementation on Healthcare Data: From Security and Privacy Perspective
Blockchain technology securely stores transaction histories using a cryptographic system in a decentralized platform. While many industries are interested in adopting blockchain, concerns about accessibility, privacy, and scalability remain. Permissioned blockchain frameworks securely store confidential records. Extensive research has been conducted on opportunities, challenges, and performance of various blockchain platforms. Healthcare organisations must adhere to legal obligations to safeguard medical data. It has become increasingly popular over the past few years, and several options are now available. Among the most prominent are Hyperledger Fabric, Corda, Quorum and Multichain. Various factors should be considered when comparing these platforms. This paper will delve into permissioned blockchain frameworks in the healthcare sector, examining their consensus range, modularity, language support, privacy, transaction rate, and currency and analysing their adoption rates through these lenses. The purpose of this study is to investigate the best fit of blockchain technology to meet the requirements of healthcare data.
