Study on the Inhibition Effects of Methane Blending on the Spontaneous Combustion Propagation of High-Pressure Hydrogen Leakage
In recent years, hydrogen has increasingly attracted widespread attention as a clean and efficient energy source. However, its inherent high hazard remains a significant challenge limiting the promotion and application of hydrogen energy. Blending a small amount of methane to modify fuel properties has proven to be an effective strategy for enhancing the safety of high-pressure hydrogen transportation. This study, based on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations and theoretical analysis, employs Large Eddy Simulation (LES), Renormalization Group (RNG) methods, the Species Transport model, and the Eddy-Dissipation Concept (EDC) to establish a model for spontaneous combustion in high-pressure hydrogen leakage with methane blending. The research focuses on examining the effects of methane blending on shock wave propagation characteristics during high-pressure hydrogen leakage, exploring the inhibition effect of methane in the shockinduced spontaneous combustion process. By investigating the gas dynamics of spontaneous combustion in high-pressure hydrogen leakage with methane blending, this study aims to provide theoretical support for achieving a safe and efficient hydrogen economy.
