Study on Improved Resistive Modulation for PLCC Technology in the Streetlamp Monitoring System

Binary resistive modulation technique is proposed to address the issue that power line carrier communication (PLCC) technology in traditional street lamp monitoring networks struggles to transmit through transformers and cannot cover long distances. However, the communication rate of the PLCC with binary resistive modulation technique is low as 90kbps, which is too slowly. Therefore, it is necessary to enhance the resistance modulation technology to improve the communication rate. This paper proposes three improved resistance modulation techniques: octal resistive modulation, time difference modulation, and time difference modulation of dual-channel pulse signals. Experimental results show that the communication rate of the PLCC system supported by these three modulation techniques can reach $284 \mathrm{kbps}, 199.6 \mathrm{kbps}$, and 519.2 kbps, respectively.
