Theft Alarm and Notification System for Medical Applications

Local security within a building or work area for supplies such as medical storage rooms or tool cribs is paramount for safety and inventory cost. This paper presents a design which seeks to implement a self-operating general purpose and medical supply security system. This consists of sensors and LEDs connected to a TI (Texas Instruments) TIVA C Series TM4C123GH6PM microcontroller. This paper presents a unique security system in that instead of an implementation across an entire house or building it can be specially configured for smaller scale use cases such as storage containers or rooms. The design is modular and can be integrated with lights and control actuators that take a digital input signal as a control input. The proposed design follows a software engineering method of development and performed testing to prove the requirements are met and show the real time features of the system.
